Willie McSporran - Well my father and mother were Willie McSporran - Well my father and mother were both local and it was Gaelic in the house, and outside my uncles were Gaelic. Then we would go down to the shore where the fishermen were, and it was all Gaelic. Farmers all about you were Gaelic, didn’t matter where you went there was Gaelic. There’s plenty understand it, but there’s very few fluent enough to sit and have a full conversation on it. Which it is a pity. That’s why I think it’s important to have it and to keep it.

The importance of Gaelic on the Isle of Gigha.
“We don’t own the land, the land owns you. We “We don’t own the land, the land owns you. We are merely passing through. And our idea is to leave a legacy for the next generation, and that is the target we must keep to. Because in future generations they’ll know that we could be trusted to do our best for the next generation. That’s a path we must follow.”

Words of wisdom from John Martin from the Isle of Gigha.
Each trip to the Isle of Gigha gets better and bet Each trip to the Isle of Gigha gets better and better! We had the pleasure of holding a consultation workshop in the town hall, where we listened to the local community’s thoughts and ideas on placement and designs of future interpretation panels and posts. We even had the chance to enjoy the sites and wildlife which surround Gigha.

Have you ever been to The Hill House in Helensburg Have you ever been to The Hill House in Helensburgh? This architectural gem is considered a Charles Rennie Mackintosh domestic masterpiece. He worked along side his wife Margaret to create this amazing building for Walter Blackie, a Glasgow book publisher. The building was finished in 1904 but struggled to withstand the test of time. Hence the magnificent box which protects the building from the elements. This impressive structure also allows visitors a birds eye view of the house.

We have the pleasure of working alongside @soluis_heritage to create digital interventions using AR to highlight the discoveries @histenvscot conservation team are finding with their thermal imaging and moisture mapping tech they are using.
