Scotland’s Urban Past was a programme of events, workshops and consultations which ran from 2014 until 2019, and investigated, recorded and engaged with communities, focussing on the history and heritage of their urban pasts.
Lateral North, alongside Soluis Heritage and Lucidity Media, were commissioned to deliver a travelling exhibition which showcased and celebrated the work of Scotland’s Urban Past, and explored key projects from the towns of Lerwick, Arbroath and Ayr, through to the bigger cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The exhibition was designed as an adaptable abstract streetscape, which doubled as the space where interpretation could be attached and where content could be projected from. The exhibition was then overlaid with augmented reality content which transformed the 2D interpretation into 3D exhibitionary visuals.
The exhibition travelled to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness between May and September 2019.
