Could the Hebrides rejuvenate piers and harbours to develop a Nordic-inspired and water-based tourism infrastructure?

Communities across the Outer Hebrides have developed at key strategic locations that reflect their maritime culture. As a result, many of these communities have at the heart of their place infrastructure that stretches out into the water, and in some cases is no longer used.

From the Water proposes reactivating these pieces of infrastructure and taking advantage of increased tourism and other island-wide initiatives, inviting people to explore the Outer Hebrides through more sustainable means of transport – pace, paddle, pedal – and rejuvenating communities in the process.
