This spring we will be hosting a series of community workshops in Helensburgh to ask local people, community groups and businesses to contribute towards new designs within Helensburgh Outdoor Museum in Colquhoun Square.
The square is a key nodal point for the town and in 2015 WaveParticle delivered the initial 15 artworks that launched the museum. Since then a number of other designs and artworks have been produced to continue to add to the stories of the town.
We have been commissioned to realise a further series of designs more than 10 years on from the outdoor museum’s launch. Our approach focuses around working with local community groups and young people – audiences which are currently under-represented within the square.
The design driven workshops will ask people to think outside the box [square] and develop designs that are engaging, colourful and vibrant. If you are local to Helensburgh we would love to hear from you so please do come to one of the workshops on 31st March, 8th and 11th April 2026. After the workshops we will work closely with local community groups and young people to build on these initial ideas, taking these groups through the design process, including visits to fabrication partners and the final installation itself.
