Halligarth House sits on the most northerly island in Scotland – Unst, Shetland. It’s history of discovery, adventure and culture is significant to the local community and as a result it has become a National Trust for Scotland building.
Lateral North were commissioned by NTS to undertake a detailed feasibility study for Halligarth House as it undergoes renovation. The study focused on how the interior and exterior spaces could be developed to welcome visitors and provide unique experiences from citizen scientist projects and events through to interpretation opportunities.
Lateral North have worked on the first and second phase of this project developing clear deliverables for the coming years. These deliverables are explored through renders, floor plans and scoping budgets for how the spaces could be developed within both the house and also the garden.
